10 DAYS GORILLA AND WILDLIFE SAFARI TRIP

Safari to explore splendid wildlife in Uganda couples with the most attractive wildlife experience in the African bushes – gorilla trekking. You will visit Queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda where the gorillas live!

Itinerary

Day 1:

kampala -murchision falls national park

Pick up from Kampala city and head for Murchison Falls National Park with a lunch stop in Masindi town. Head to the top of the falls before checking in at the Lodge for relaxation and dinner at A) Fort Murchison B) Nile Safari Lodge C) Paraa Safari Lodge B-L-D

Day 2:

Gorilla tracking and community walk

After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, escorted by a game ranger. Game in this part includes: Rothschild Giraffe, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Lions, Oribis, Waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland birds. At 14.00 hrs, after lunch, have a Nile cruise to the bottom of the falls for game viewing at close quarters; this is a paradise of hippos, crocodiles and different water bird species. Day 3:

Murchison falls (mfnp) - kibale (3-4hrs)

After an early breakfast, we leave Murchison Falls National Park and continue to Kibale through Fort Portal where you will see the beautiful tea plantations and the beautiful hills along the way. Dinner and Overnight at the A)Kibale Forest Camp B) Standard Cottages of Primate Lodge Kibale or B) Luxury cottages of Primate Lodge Kibale (B-L-D)

Day 4:

Kibale national park (5-6hrs)

With one of the highest concentration of primates in East Africa- Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and takes approximately two hours. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Day 5:

Kibale National Park – Queen Elizabeth National

Transfer towards Fort Portal and continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a long but rewarding drive with breathtaking panoramic views as you proceed to Lodge to check in. Dinner and overnight at A) Simba Safari Camp B) Ihamba Safari Lodge or C) Mweya Safari Lodge (B-L-D)

Day 6:

Queen Elizabeth National Park

The day begins early as we start with a morning game drive and head to the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. We search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant birdlife that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Day 7:

Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi National Park 6 hours

Breakfast and then head to Bwindi National Park arriving in time for lunch and an evening community walk. Dinner and Overnight at A) Buhoma Community Bandas, B)Engagi Lodge or C) Mahogany Springs (B-L-D)

Day 8:

Gorilla Tracking Bwindi National Park

The highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike and expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! Day 9:

Bwindi National Park- Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast we depart the impenetrable forest of Bwindi and head to Lake Mburo National Park. As we enter the park it is likely that you will spot some wildlife. After checking in you will go on a boat ride on the lake to view the rich bird life and many hippos that are cooling off. Dinner and overnight at A)Lake Mburo Safari lodge, B) Mantana Tented Camp or C) Mihingo lodge (B-L-D)

Day 10:

Lake Mburo National Park-Entebbe

Early start of the day as we will go for a safari walk guided by a ranger, Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. Return to the lodge for breakfast before we depart the protected area and drive back to Kampala.
